About Kristopher Shannon
I grew up in a small farming community in Northern Califorina. Basically all of my time as a kid was spent outside riding my bike and exploring the natural world around me. When I wasn’t on my bike you could find me at the river fishing. After high school and a failed attempt at community college, I decided to join the US Navy where I spent 5 years stationed in Hawaii working on P3 Orion avionics systems for Patrol Squadron 4, “(Skinny Dragons) and reached the rank of E-5.
During my time in the Navy, I deployed multiple times and got to see some of the most amazing places. My first deployment was to Japan and the surrounding indo-pacific region. My second deployment was to El Salvador and my final deployment was to Iraq. Something I learned was that each one of these unique geographies holds its own unique beauty while the people are surprisingly similar in their wants, needs, and fears.
When I got out of the Navy, I moved to San Diego to finish up school and start a new chapter in my life. After completing some community college work, I transferred to the University of San Diego (USD) where I studied business and earned a degree in Finance while also minoring in Law & Ethics. I was also lucky enough to meet my wife during this time. We have been together now for 10 years and have two beautiful boys.
When I am not spending time with my family (or at the office working), you can find me with a beer in my hand at the golf course, or at a chamber of commerce mixer or helping members of my community with Rotary International.
